"The closest thing to the Thompson Phoenix available on the open market would easily sell for $100 per box. In fact most people who have participated in our blind taste test compare it favorably to the most respected brands available in the U.S. market. Its taste is reminiscent of highly regarded products of the Dominican Republic selling at prices upwards of $125 per box. This is high praise indeed for a house brand cigar. But high as they are, the reviews don’t really surprise us that much. You see, we know the grower. Having been to his farm, we’ve seen the care he lavishes on his crop, how when it leaves the field it is lovingly bundled for curing and laid softly down to age out the impurities, never rushed in the process. All along, we were confident that this tobacco would someday produce a fine cigar. And when we witnessed the manufacture, we knew we wanted our logo on the band, and we quickly purchased all we could get of his very limited production. Though he’s by no means big, he’s good. Surprisingly good. We think you’ll agree with the tasters who rate it so highly" |
